Kader Kesehatan Pengabdian Masyarakat Resusitasi Jantung Paru RJP

Abstract

Background: Cardiac arrest may occur anywhere and anytime. Therefore, everyone should know how to perform CPR to assist a victim before an ambulance arrives.

Purpose: To increase knowledge about CPR, improve skills on how to do Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) correctly; and increasing the awareness of village health cadres to help residents who have stopped breathing and cardiac arrest by immediately performing CPR.

Method: These activities involved checking blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation, and CPR training.

Result: The result of this community service activity was that the compression quality among participants was very good. The average chest compression rate was 118 x/minute, which was following the recommendations of AHA 2020. The average compression depth was slightly deeper than the recommendation, which was 68 mm (6.8 cm).

Conclusion: It is expected that the community will engage in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in cardiac arrest, irrespective of the potential difficulties that may arise from the administration of CPR.
