Center of Excellence Edukasi kesehatan Kesehatan reproduksi Kesadaran masyarakat Pengabdian masyarakat

Abstract

Background: Reproductive health issues remain a challenge in public health development, particularly related to the low level of public knowledge and awareness regarding optimal reproductive health maintenance. Promotive and preventive efforts through education and mentoring are needed to increase understanding and foster better health behaviors.

Purpose: To increase public knowledge and awareness regarding reproductive health through the implementation of a Center of Excellence (CoE)-based program.

Method: The community service activity was conducted on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, in the target area of the Center of Excellence partner, namely the Integrated Health Service Post (Posyandu) in Marga Agung Village, Jati Agung District, South Lampung Regency. The target population of this community service activity was the general public of productive age. Thirty primiparous and multiparous mothers participated as respondents. This community service activity was implemented using an integrated educational and participatory approach within the Center of Excellence (CoE) framework. Evaluation of the activity was conducted by assessing changes in community knowledge and awareness before and after the educational activity, as well as by observing participation and active participation in discussions.

Results: Data showed that the average age of respondents was 28.43 years with a standard deviation of ±6.17 years. The majority of respondents (66.7%) were in the 30-35 age range. The majority of respondents (40.0%) had a high school education, the majority (40.0%) were pregnant, and the majority (19%) were multiparous. Meanwhile, the level of knowledge of respondents increased proportionally to 76.7% in the good category after the educational activity, from 13.3% before the educational activity.

Conclusion: The Center of Excellence-based community service program, implemented through an educational and mentoring approach, has been proven to have a positive impact on increasing public knowledge and awareness regarding reproductive health. The Center of Excellence's role as a facilitator and primary driver of community service activities has strengthened the synergy between the service team, partners, and the target community, encouraging active community involvement in the program's sustainability at the community level.

Suggestion: It is recommended that the Center of Excellence-based community service program be further developed and expanded to include other community groups and regions experiencing similar health issues, thereby increasing the sustainability and impact of the community service program.

Tujuan: Untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran masyarakat mengenai kesehatan reproduksi melalui implementasi program berbasis Center of Excellence (CoE).
